About This Chapter
The narrator tries to get the girl to remember what happened before she came to this, but she can't. She's worried about her parents. The narrator reassures her that she shouldn't worry, since she's probably just gotten here, so she doesn't need to force herself to remember anything. The girl is suspicious, the narrator tells her, and she should be careful around the other players, since they're all playing the same game. She tells the girl that this is her first time playing a game in a foreign country, and it was a serious illness. She asks the girl if she remembers how she got into the game, and the girl says she does, but that it's too dangerous for her to remember. She also tells the narrator that the man who sits there playing the game is from the same country as her, so he's not really a big deal, but he'll do his best to help her.
