The chapter opens with Lin and the others out for a walk. Lin tells the others that she's embarrassed that they're out together, but she doesn't want to hurt anyone's feelings. She's also willing to protect her lover, even if that means hurting someone else's. Lin invites the others over for dinner, and they all agree to go. Lin asks if she still wants to deny that she and Bing are a couple, and she says that she does. They go shopping together, and Lin is a little nervous. He takes her by the hand and runs off with her. Lin and Bing have dinner together, which makes her happy. She asks why Lin is so cold, and he says that he's been busy lately.
