The next day, the li family comes to compete with the company for market share. The two men know each other from childhood, and they've always known each other's families, so they're used to each other. They've even had the chance to meet up and become like each other, but they refuse to do so. The narrator tells us that this is the first time that the two men have ever met up, and it's because of their friendship between their families that they get to meet and compete with each other so often. The li family is hard to get along with, and the next day the two companies are going to be competing for the same market share, so the two of them have to be careful. They don't know why they didn't come with them, but the narrator says that the li's family is really considerate, and that they were kind of friends before they met. He tells the story of how they used to have tea together all the time, and how their fathers would sit together and talk about the day's events. He says that he and the li used to get together and become friends, and he refused to do the same. He even gave him a lesson, telling him that he had been obtained from his family, and there wasn't anything to be proud about. He's not interested, he says. He doesn't want to be like his father's son, so he tells him to go and attack the li and pull the next guy, and then he'll make him agree with him
