About This Chapter
The next morning, the two boys are still in hiding. They're not sure if they'll be able to find their way back to safety, but they're determined to do whatever it takes to get there. They talk about how they've known each other for a long time, and how they fought to save each other, but that's it. They don't really care about each other's safety, though, because they want to find each other. They ask each other questions about their lives, and each of them tries to figure out what the other is up to. One of the boys asks if he's on the school track team, and the other boy says he loves running, but his mom doesn't want him to do sports. The boys ask the teacher at their school if he knows anything about the situation, and he says he does. They call him "the four - turtle-eyed teacher" , and ask him if there's anyone out there who can help them. He's not sure, but he'll try.
