About This Chapter
The scene opens in a hotel room, where a young woman is preparing to go to sleep. The young woman asks the man if he is afraid of thunder, and the man replies that he is not afraid of the thunder, but of being in a "newly confined space" during "a thunderous day" . The woman tells the man that her parents died when she was a child, and that her aunt took her everywhere and lived "from hand to mouth" so she owed her a great deal of debt. She says that one time she and her aunt were unable to escape because of the heat and humidity of the day, and she says that she feels afraid whenever she recalls the scene. The man tells her that the room is "soundproofed" and that she should stay there and rest. He tells the woman that the young master wants to renovate his house after the young woman wakes up, and he says that the top construction company in the city is there to do the work. He says that he was busy designing a proposal for her the entire night, and when she woke up, she was surprised to find that he had been busy for her all night. The next morning, she says, she walked a little faster. She asks the young man why he brought her to such a "little nora," and he replies that she was invited to do a "retake" of the short film he made for her. She is shocked that he would ask her to do such a thing, since she is not well known in the movie community.
