In this chapter, we learn that little nora and her brother, Michael, are in the middle of a heated argument about whether or not they should be allowed to leave the wedding party. Nora is worried that her brother is trying to steal her from her, and she tells him not to worry, because she's already married to him. She tells him that the notary office has already stamped their marriage certificate, and the government has already issued them a marriage certificate too. She's not unhappy about this, she says, because Michael is her husband and she is his. She also tells him to be nice to her brother and not to bully her, because the second master of the family, Michael's brother, is a very good person. He'll be the one who saves her from being bullied by the other family members, and he'll make sure that she doesn't do the same thing to him the next time she goes out with the family.
