About This Chapter
In this short scene, King Rama tells his daughter-in-law, the Queen of Ayodya, that he was killed defending her from an attack by the Bhalu clan. He tells her that she will soon become the princess of Mithila, a term used to refer to a woman who is the offspring of a king and queen. Rama says that he is glad that his father was killed for protecting her, because she is so lucky to have escaped. He says that the fall of the mithila makes him realize that the kingdom is very fragile, and that it is time for him to take over as the king.
