This scene takes place in the palace of Dhirgamukha, the princess of Kotsala. She is in the middle of a conversation with her husband, who has just returned from the battle of Kosalayudha, in which he lost his life. She asks him why he has been captured by the garuda, and he tells her that he has nothing against either of them. He says that he is not looking for trouble, but that the sky is full of "shakti hasta" , the "old shakti- rage " . She tells him to cover the exits of the room so that he cannot escape. She then tells him that she has called for backup, and that she wants to see what kind of man he is capable of.
