About This Chapter
In this short scene, Roxane introduces us to the "grand legend story and art" of Roxane's childhood friend, the garuda. Roxane asks Roxane to show her around the town of Mithila, where the "garuda" live. She tells Roxane that Roxane owes her a debt of gratitude for healing her wounds in the battle of Jagnasthan. She also tells her that her brother, the king, is a "little stiff" and a "very serious" man. He spends his time training for the throne, but underneath all of that, he is a kind, caring person. She asks if they've ever met before, and he says that they once did, when they were still small, and that they were not allowed to leave the palace. He also says that he remembers the ghost town, where he and Roxane once lived. He asks her not to tell him that she hasn't told him yet, and she says that she's "great at keeping secrets"
