In this chapter, we are introduced to a new character, Larcade, who is the proprietor of a new massage parlor in the city. Larcade is the owner of the massage parlor, which has just opened its doors in the heart of New York City. He is very interested in the new place, which is described as a "massage parlor" and a "tomb of city hero" . He tells us that he went to the parlor to get a free massage, but that the man in charge of the parlor "got some sketchy technique" , and Larcade tells him to stay away from the new establishment.
