In this chapter, we learn that the protagonist, Mami, has fallen in love with the protagonist's favorite boy, who is a Grade 5 student. The protagonist, however, does not know how to express her love for the boy because he is so popular with girls in her class. She tells the protagonist that she will not be able to have a romantic relationship with the boy unless he is popular with other girls in his class. In order to make the boy notice her, the protagonist suggests that she go to his shrine and make him notice her. He tells her that she is the heroine of her life because she is so devoted to her favorite boy. She also tells him that she keeps a picture of the boy in her desk drawer, and that she even keeps a printed picture of him in her room. Mami says that she would like to visit the shrine, but the priestess is not there right now. Mami thinks that the boy has come home to ask her for help with his crush, but Mami tells him not to worry, because she knows that when she sees girls, all she can think about is "dirty stuff" . Mami is surprised to learn that Mami's crush is her boyfriend.
