About This Chapter
The narrator and his daughters are on their way to the shrine of their father, who is the god of the underworld. They are met by a man who has come to pick them up and take them to their father's shrine. The narrator is shocked to find that the man is actually his daughter's father. He is also shocked to learn that he has to meet his daughters' father in order to be allowed into the shrine. He tells the man that he will not allow his daughters to have sex with anyone but his own father. The man responds by saying that the bar for godshood is very low and that he would rather be a temporary god than a permanent god. He then tells the narrator that if he goes through the shrine, he will end up at the shrine where his daughters were born. He says that he is not emotionally ready to face his daughters and that they are not "all orihime" or "hinata" . He also says that his daughters have been seduced by their father and that his daughter has been "cursed" by the man. He asks the man if he has just kissed his daughter, and the man replies that she has kissed him. He goes on to say that he had always dreamed that his father had come to see his daughters, but that he could not have done so because he had sealed off the place where they were born and sealed it off with his sister. He adds that his sister is releasing an "awesome amount of gloom" in the area where they are hiding, and if he lets her out, she will curse him for leaving her there. He wonders if his sister will be able to convince her father to let her out of the shrine so that she can escape the curse. He thinks that if his father wants to get his daughters out of there, he must make them happy enough so that they will be happy enough to escape the gloom.
