The next morning, the Chief is surprised to learn that he's going to be promoted to the rank of lieutenant. He's been working so hard for the Chief, and he wants to thank him for all of his hard work. The Chief says that he doesn't want to tell his superiors about the promotion before they make a decision, but he does want to thank the Chief for all his help. He tells the Chief that he has someone else in his life, and that he can't reciprocate the Chief's feelings. He says he'll return to work, though, because the West Coast client has asked for a new assignment. The West Coast boss says that's why they had to do a new flowchart, because they're so tired from all the work they've been doing.
