He tells the narrator to "scare" him a bit, so that he can get some "sweet spot" in the back room when he gets back. He says that he told the narrator when they were talking on the phone that he should find a "man more suitable" than him, and he says that's exactly what he'll do when he returns from work. But the narrator doesn't want to say anything more than that, so he slaps the narrator on the face. He also slaps him on the arm, and then slaps himself on the side of the head. He tries to reassure the narrator that everything's fine, but the narrator can't help but feel bad for him. He asks the narrator not to tell anyone at work about what's happened, because he needs to "drink up" .
