This chapter's epigraph comes from a psychiatrist who was treating Mr. Liu during the time of the murder. The psychiatrist tells us that the murderer was a "master of disguise" . He was able to kill the store owner while he was pretending to be "ting" , and then show up at the apartment of the woman he was supposed to kill. This is the first time the psychiatrist has seen this kind of behavior.
