This chapter opens with a description of Lin's "mode ii" , which is a fancy way of saying that he's staring at Selia's neck. Lin thinks that Selia is trying to hypnotize him, but he can't figure out how to do that. He's also worried about the fact that he has no earphone, which means that he doesn't have time to talk to Selia.
