In this chapter, we learn that Lin was the only person in the whole world who didn't talk to anyone. He was "unsociable" . Lin's killer seems to be obsessed with his voice , and Lin could keep the recordings of the victims "for future viewings" , but Lin doesn't have the killer's phone number, so he's not sure if Lin is the killer or not. He's also worried that the killer might want to keep the victims' voices in case they ever need to listen to them again. So, he decides to get Lin into his apartment and use his cell phone to spy on Lin.
