The family head, John, tries to talk to the young boy about his magic, but the boy says he's not interested in signing a contract with them. He wants to have a "happy life" with his new "contractor" . But the family head tells him that a contract is only signed once in a lifetime, so he can't sign one with anyone unless he likes them. The family senior tells the boy that a witch cannot sign a contract until she's had a chance to meet someone she likes. The boy says that if he ever sees a witch, he'll ask her to let him know what he wants. He says that he'd like to see his big sister never cry again, and that he would like to grow up faster so that he and his sister could play together. But, he says, none of this can be done using magic. After so many years, he still wishes he could see pat again.
