The narrator wakes up to find that the baby is talking to him like a "fool." He tells the baby that he's been growing stronger, and that he hopes that his parents will accept him as a son. The narrator tells him that he will always be his father's "side" and that no matter what the future holds, he'll always be by his side. The baby asks the narrator if he is a pervert, and the narrator says that he isn't. He also says that if he hates the baby, he will have to tie him up in a basement so that he won't be able to run away. The two of them agree that they'll never be apart, but the narrator asks the baby where he got the courage to " entrust his future to you" .
