About This Chapter
The next morning, Ben tells his friends that he's going to take the subway first thing in the morning to catch a ride to the child sports festival, which starts at 8:00 the next morning. He tells them that it's too late for them to catch the subway back, so he'll go home and change clothes before going back to the festival. The festival starts at 7:20, and Ben says it'll be too late to get home if he doesn't take the train back. The teacher who promised Ben that she'd help him suddenly got sick, so Ben's dad will join them. He's so handsome, in fact, that Ben thinks he still likes his son, who's called Fu-Run. Ben says he'd like to reconcile with him, but he refuses to do so. The neighbors who Ben grew up with, all of whom are already married, have children, and they're all in the same neighborhood as Ben. They've all had children, Ben says, and he can't understand why they still don't get along.
