The narrator begins this chapter by saying that the only thing he did right in his youth was to give his all to the girl he loves. He says that she is his youth and that he is waiting for someone to love him. The narrator then goes on to say that since he met her, every moment has been a new one to him. He thanks her for her love and wishes her well. He tells her that it has been six years since she left and that she should stop coming to visit him.
