In this chapter, we are introduced to Fu Run's mother , who is also called xiaoya, and we learn that she is a good friend of Fu Run. Fu Run tells her that he loves her too, and that she has been his best friend ever since they bumped into one another in the street. He says that he has always kept the secret of his love for her because she is his "best friend" and also because she has feelings for him. He tells her about the toys he bought her for her birthday, and she says that everyone is happy with them. She tells him that no one has bullied her, and he says that if only he were her father, no one would say that he doesn't have any dad anymore. He asks her to help him with the renovations at the restaurant. He also asks her if she would like to hire a tutor. She says that since she moved to China, she cannot keep up with all the people there. She asks him if he would like her to instruct her son, but he says he will go to school the next day to do so. He wants her to promise that she will not go back on her word and that he will take care of him from now on. He then asks her what she is talking about, and her response is that she wants to instruct his son. He goes on to say that yesterday, she said they were going to see her grandma, but she ended up standing in the way of her son's ward. He calls her a liar and says that she should stop calling her son his father. She scolds him for being so disobedient, and tells him to get down. She invites him to move in with them if she is worried. She then asks him where her son is. He has been taken away by his former boyfriend.
