This chapter opens with a flashback to the events of the previous chapter. In this chapter, we are introduced to Fu-Lin and his sister, who are now living together in the same apartment building. Fu's sister, Xiomara, has returned to the apartment after being away for a few days. She tells her sister that she is back and that she should go out for a walk with her boyfriend, who is also back at the apartment. She is shocked to find that she has not been invited to go out with him, and that he has already left. When she asks him why he is leaving, he tells her that he will not be joining her when he is having fun. He tells her to get off because the day after the national day is coming up, and she tells him that she will not join him when he has fun. She then tells him to leave because she knows that no one loves him. She also tells him not to tell anyone that she loves him, because no one will love him if he does not like them. She says that she does not want to be a part of her sister's life when she is not with him. He says that it is not easy for her and her boyfriend to be together, because they do not have the same social connections.
