The narrator and his friend are shopping at a department store when they run into one of the guys who works at the register. The guy tells the narrator that he bought a bunch of stuff for a lot of money and that he's glad he did it. The narrator doesn't buy it, though, because he thinks that the guy's work isn't worth the money he spent. He tells the guy to take the money and go to the drug store to buy some more stuff. The dude agrees to pay for the stuff he bought at the store, but the narrator is bummed that he spent so much money on stuff that he didn't really need. He's not happy that he wasted money on things that he wasn't even going to use.
