This chapter opens with a soliloquy by the chief woman, in which she asks the chief to kill her just because she said so. She says that she will keep fortifying her defenses and will keep an eye on the surrounding women. She fears that the holy light will not be enough to protect them. The chief woman creates a purple ball of energy and uses it to encircle the women and shield them from the rays of the sun.
