In this chapter, the narrator asks the reader what his favorite job was when he worked with Hayato and Masha. The narrator tells the reader that he used to be a temp worker and that he looks forward to working with Masha and Hayato again. He tells her that she is so pretty, and he is glad that they seem to be doing well. He also tells her to stop using the nickname "cute" and to cut out all of her "not cute at all" comments. He suggests that they go to lunch together, and the two of them agree to do so. Masha tells the narrator that the person who selected the members of the group was Mr.haya, and she hopes that he will do her very best. She also tells him that the appointment request he put together for her was really good, and that she would like to see more of it. She tells him to get the gift list for her from him, and to include things that are "more in - style" than the plain choices he has submitted. She says that she wants him to cut the price of the gift from him by half, and then they will look for everything else in the group. She adds that she wishes she could be like Masha, and says that it is important to have "relationships that make up for weaknesses." The narrator says that he wishes he could work with Masha, but that he has a long way ahead before he will be like her.
