In this chapter, we learn that the Governess is worried about her daughter's upcoming marriage. She wants to make sure that she has someone to share dinner with, and she wants to buy her daughter a drink so that she and her daughter can have a good time. The Governess tells her daughter that she should think of getting a boyfriend because she will always have someone else to share the meal with. She also tells her that she will never meet anyone she likes, and that she would like to buzz her drink whenever she sees someone she likes. She asks her daughter to put the table on her tab so that the two of them can pay for their meal. She tells her to be sure that they are both drunk, because she is worried that they will get into trouble if they return home drunk
