This is a locked chapterChapter 37: Expose Each Other
About This Chapter
The narrator begins this chapter by saying that he likes Victor very much. He says that he started to like him very early, but that he never understood what was wrong with his heart. He feels that he is always one step ahead of him, and that is why he is so happy. He tells us that he suspected that Victor was in love with him for a while, but now that he hears that someone else loves him, he is happy. The narrator says that his face is "so hot" and that he has been in love for many years, but at one time he felt that he was not in Victor's league. He felt that his fate and his own would part in the same high school, and he thought that he could only watch him secretly. He now feels that his heart cannot settle because he always shows this expression, which makes him feel anxious, and talk nonsense. He asks if he means "easy to fool" and says that this expression is very dangerous because it reminds him of an innocent sheep. He wonders if he should let his heart "jump as much as wants"
