About This Chapter
The narrator introduces us to a new character named "xue'er chan" . He introduces himself as an observer and introduces himself to the audience as "Tinkle tinkle" , which means "long time no see" in Chinese. He explains that he's here to observe the relationship between jiajia and chenghuan. After observing the two of them for a while, he notices that both of them seem to be becoming more and more emotionally attached to each other. He also notices that the heroine seems to have taken the initiative to show her love for the man she's just met. The narrator then turns to the man and asks him if he'd be better off as a bystander. He's surprised that the man is actually a "sea king," which is a slang term for a "womanizer." The narrator says that he doesn't think the man has ulterior motives for the heroine, but he still believes that the relationship must have been a misunderstanding. He then asks the man if he was just a "groupmate" at the time, and the man says that's not true. He adds that he was in the same school as cheng-huan and chen-nanxin, and that they're still friends. He goes on to say that he has a bunch of photos of them together from kindergarten to high school, and he wants to look through them all to see if there's anything between them. He asks the woman if she went for a trip, and she says no, she came because she has something for him.
