About This Chapter
After a series of unexplained events, the narrator discovers the same style of heart rate monitor that he has been using for the past few weeks. He suspects that the watch is being used to remind the senior of his time. He hears the senior's voice and thinks that it is him who is making the senior nervous. He wonders if this is not "narcissistic playing in me" . He decides that he will find proof that the heart-rate monitor is only beeping when the senior is nervous. The narrator wonders how the senior could have a watch that only beeps when the heart rate rises. He thinks that the time is running out and wonders if the senior wants to escape. He asks the senior if he has a watch and the senior says that he does. He tells the narrator that he may not be able to discuss the sketches with the senior today, so he will go ahead and sketch by himself. When the narrator asks if he should go in a hurry, the senior tells him that he should wait a moment and then tap tap if he sees the watch right. The watch starts beeping.
