In this short scene, the narrator introduces us to chenghuan, a young man who has just arrived at the Senior's house. He tells us that he's going to hang out with jiajia, a friend of the senior, because it's cooler at night, and he doesn't want to have to change clothes. He's also worried that he might get a cold, so he'll have to wait until the next day to get dressed. Worried that he won't make it to the senior's room in time to see the movie, he decides to stay and watch it from a distance. Unsure of what to do with himself, he tries to find out how to set up the projector so that he can watch the movie from the comfort of his own room. He can't help but notice that the Senior is watching the movie with his eyes closed, and that the scent of the Senior fills the room. Confused, he asks the Senior if he'd noticed that he was staring at him, and the Senior says that he didn't, because he was busy watching another movie. The narrator tries to get the Senior to admit that he wasn't paying attention to him, but the Senior responds that he couldn't possibly have noticed that the narrator was looking at him. He says that if the narrator had been paying attention, he wouldn't have been wearing glasses, and would have been able to see clearly. He also points out that the senior is wearing glasses at the same time that he is wearing his clothes, which means that the two of them are wearing different wavelengths of light, which is why they're talking in different places.
