In this chapter, the narrator explains the history of the martial art of wushu, or sword fighting. He explains that most of the practitioners of this art have been recruited from the city lord's and his son's martial clubs. However, three of the top 20 practitioners in the fang rank have refused to be recruited by other practitioners of the same art because they believe that their own skill sets are superior to those of other practitioners.
