Suxin and the other leaders of the gang discuss the situation. Suxin tells the gang leader that they must all be worried about their future. He asks if they are trying to split the gang up. The gang leader replies that they are only pretending to be impartial. He tells Suxin that he knows the cause of the current turmoil better than any of the other gang leaders, and that they should be held accountable for the deaths and injuries of their brothers. He says that the merchants should not have had the courage to join forces with the Green Bamboo gang against them. He also says that Suxin allowed the merchants to force them into a corner. He adds that he will kill all the merchants when he gets back the lane.
