In this chapter, the monster explains how he will respond to the invitation from the lagonians to come and live with them. He decides that he will meet up with the humans at dawn the next day. He wonders how they will react to the news of the invitation. He also wonders if they will accept the invitation or not. He then wonders if he will be able to keep the humans away from him. He realizes that he has an incredibly important mission for the monster. He asks the monster if he can keep a lookout for the humans. The monster replies that he can either keep them away or report back to him about the progress of the mission. He tells the monster that he used the bird's back to craft a new weapon. He wants to know if the people at the meeting were invited to the meeting. He knows that they are, but he wonders if there are any other people who would be willing to help him out. He sends a message to them.
