In this chapter, we're introduced to a new character named Kirin. Kirin is the protagonist of the story, and he's the one who's in charge of the tactical aspect of the game. KiRIN is the hero of the first two chapters, but now Kirin's got a new enemy in the form of the Bastard. The Bastard is an enemy of the gods, and Kirin has to fight him off. The protagonist is psyched to have Kirin fighting him off, but he doesn't know how to do it. He's not sure how to play the tactical part, since Kirin won't be firing at him. So the protagonist has to figure out a way to get Kirin to stop shooting at him, even though Kirin isn't firing at Kirin at all. This is the first time we've seen Kirin in action, and the protagonist's psyched to be fighting a guy like Kirin, who is so much better than he is. But Kirin can't stay on Kirin for long, because Kirin will keep firing at the protagonist. The only way to keep Kirin from shooting at you is to get him to stick to Kirin while Kirin does the fighting.
