About This Chapter
The doctor tells the patient that he will refund all previous operations for which he is responsible. The doctor says that he has proof that the drugs that caused the patient's disfigurement were imported under his name and that his surgery could not fix the problem. He asks the patient if he has anything else he would like to do before he submits the results of his surgery tomorrow. The patient says he does have a new drug that will work, and the doctor agrees to do whatever he wants. He thanks the patient for his kind words, and says he will be at the police station the next day. The detective, wajim, is excited to be joining the division. He says that the chief wants him and the detective to go to the crime scene together for awhile, and he is looking forward to the chance to work with the other detective. He wants the two of them to wear more youthfully when they go out into the streets. He also says he wants to give the patient one last chance to get better. He tells her to shut her eyes, and then he will give her some anesthetic.
