In this chapter, we learn that the former head of the za program has been arrested for the murder of a woman. We learn that he was the one who called for the violent crimes in the first place. We also learn that in middle school, he was arrested for a robbery that never took place. He was also arrested for suspicion of murder, but he was released on the condition that he not tell anyone about the crime. He tells us that two years ago, he and Sherdog had a talk about how he would become a normal dog if someone found out who he really was. He says that even though he and her can't talk to each other, they can still tell each other stories about fairies and spirits. He adds that he wants to keep the stories alive so that no one else will know about them when they grow up. He wants to learn everything he can from the former super sleuth, but there is only so much he can do in his current position, so he has to hurry and solve as many crimes as he can before it is too late.
