Back on the ship, the Governess asks if she's okay. She's already feeling better. She asks why she went so far for her. The Governess says she didn't want to do it for her master, but that she did it out of her "obsessions" . She admits that she was "reckless" in doing it, but she still saved her. She says she'll do whatever she can to help her master. She doesn't know what to repay him for doing such a good thing for her, but at least he gave her a "life" , and she promises to do whatever he asks of her. He's not done yet, though, and he's going to have a look at her body. He wants to know if the pain is still there. She tells him it's "gross" and "still hurt," but she can't figure out why. She feels like she was back at the beginning of the adventure. She apologizes, and says she feels safe.
