Emelina is back in the room, and she tells her master that the pirates have sent back all of the things they took from her. She tells Emelina that she can't stay with campbell all the time, but she can stay awake long enough to leave her side if something happens. Emelina asks if she can use magic, and Emelina explains that she's able to do so because she unconsciously absorbs a lot of campbell's magic. She says that if it weren't for her, they wouldn't be able to use her magic at all. She asks if campbell is running a fever, and he says that's not working. He says that he's temporarily blocked her flow of magic, which should help her a bit, but it's just her body responding to the fever. He calls for a doctor, but Emelina doesn't want him to go, because she knows that things aren't going well. She blames Emelina for everything, saying that Emelina was negligent in her duty. She promises to help Emelina if Emelina needs anything, and then she leaves.
