In this chapter, we are introduced to a new character, the "symbiote" . We learn that he is a parasite that lives in the body of Eve, and that Eve's master has prepared him some food and clothing. Eve is shocked to learn that the clothes her master gave her are ruined. She also learns that the wound on her stomach healed when she first met her master was also healed by Eve. This means that Eve is no longer needed by her master.
