The chapter opens with a conversation between a teacher and a student. The teacher tells the student that he cannot continue to stay in class because the student, Chennan, is different from the other students. He also tells Chennan that he is unable to handle the first day of school because he is not strong enough. The student, however, thanks the teacher for his advice. He tells the teacher that he has gotten his sister's smokes and that he needs to take them with him. He asks the teacher not to run into the president of the student council because he will be in trouble. He says that he will beat the student president if he comes across him. Chennan tells him that he does not want to fight him and that if he hits the wall next time, he will become dumber. The chapter ends with the student saying that they have found out that the bookstore was selling cigarettes to look like it was true. They will need to close it down.
