The Governess tells the Governess that he is upset because of her words. He says that he has been thinking that he should go to the city of his choice and that he will become the "master of his own life" in the future. She tells him that three days later he will be waiting for him in the city. She says that she has been giving him "free rein" and has made him come to see her. He tells her that sooner or later, something will go wrong and he will have to go back to his old school. She asks him if he has the right to protest.
