Growing up, the narrator never knew who his father was. He met a difficult man who paid little, and he would become his mother's kid. Little did he know that a little money he transferred into his father's account would buy him the rest of his life. A few months later, he saw things he had never seen before. He asks his uncle if he can buy him a virtual console so that he can learn all sorts of things from him. The uncle agrees, and the narrator begins to hate his uncle. He wants to get his hands on all kinds of books, software, and more, but the uncle won't give him anything until after he's dead. The narrator tells his uncle that if he keeps stalling, he'll shoot him if he doesn't change his mind. He tells the uncle that he wants to be free for five years, and if he works for him for that long, the uncle promises to set him free once he completes his studies. But when he gets to the end of his assignment, he is asked to kill a girl who is in prison. He realizes that he is incapable of killing, but he is willing to die for her. He wonders if there's a next life for him, if he could meet her again.
