The next morning, the two men discuss the previous night's events. They realize that the bestard has returned, and that tao-zi gave him all the money in her purse. The two men decide to go back to school and ask for more money from the man. They also decide to ask for money from him again next week. Worried that he will not be able to pay back the money he loaned , the men agree that he must return to China. He tells them that he has gambled away his life, and destroyed his wife's, and he can't stop gambling. He says that it is only natural for them to hate him, because he has done so much to hurt them when they were little. He promises that once he gets a job, he will never ask anyone for money again. He also promises to try to repay all of the money the men loaned him. Reluctantly, he agrees to return.
