The Governess tells her students that she expects them to be bold in their desire for freedom. She tells them that they should form separate groups and remember that they are engaged in a fight. She also tells them not to think about running. She says that she is going to turn the girl into a "street rat" and that she will fight the girl's classmate, "tao zi" of class A, who has caused a commotion in the gymnasium the day before. She warns the students not to worry about the teachers office, as they will not tolerate such bad behavior. She then tells the students that they will have to obey the teacher's rules. She adds that if a woman attacks her with a knife, she must take action, but if she is attacked by an ordinary girl, then she must obey the rules.
