About This Chapter
This scene opens in the gymnasium of the legendary Salares High School. It's the first time we've heard of the school, and we're not sure what to make of it. We're told that the newcomer to the school's wrestling team is "really strong" , and that he's also the president of a division of the division that's known as "bxe" . The newcomer is so strong that he almost gets his neck broken in the fight, but he manages to dodge the blow. He's not the only one who's disappointed in the newcomer's performance. The other students are also disappointed, too, because the newcomer is "swish so fast" and uses a fighting technique called "savate," which is based on the French martial art of "French boxing." This is a very popular fighting technique in the United States, and it's used in mixed martial arts. In this scene, we learn that "sura" is a Latin word for "swoop," which means "to strike." In this case, it means to "swoosh" or "to whack." In other words, the newcomer will strike with his body, and the other students will follow suit. The students are shocked to see how fast the newcomer strikes, and they're even more shocked when they see that the guy is holding his opponent's leg. They don't know what to
