About This Chapter
The scene opens with a conversation between Hiroshi and Hiroshi's friend. Hiroshi tells Hiroshi that he's learned something about love that he didn't know before: that "pain always accompanies love" . He asks Hiroshi to dedicate his pain to Hiroshi. He also tells him that Hiroshi hasn't been around much lately, and that he suspects that Shuruga has something for Hiroshi, but Hiroshi doesn't think it's a big deal. He's going to go see a play at the festival, so he'll be able to go to the theater with Hiroshi instead of having to deal with the other students. He wants to go and see the play, but he'd rather not go because he needs to talk about his upcoming performance with the theater troupe. He says that he can't go because his class is giving "foot baths" , and he wants to make sure that everyone is mentally prepared for the performance. He tells his friend that each reading is only 20 minutes long, and each reading has to be done in the middle of the night. He hopes that everyone has a good time at the theater.
