We learn that Izumi is a young woman who has just graduated from high school, and that she has a crush on a man named Sugamoto. We also learn that Sugamoto is a man who has recently returned from a trip to Europe, where he has met with mixed reviews. The narrator, however, is not concerned with his feelings for Izumi; he is concerned with the fact that she is pregnant, and he is determined to find a way to have sex with her.
