This is the last scene of the first half of the comic. It opens with the young inspector complaining to his master that he has been unable to get rid of the flirtatious man who has been flirting with him. He asks his master to let him go so that he can clean up his act. The young inspector then coughs and falls to the floor. The narrator tells us that the young man has been poisoned by the "chilling poison" of his master's speech. He then tells us what will happen next.
