The queen grabs Edward's hand and tells him to "alight" until they are "burnt to ashes together" . She then tells him that he is "dead meat" , and that he should "just do what he did when he was a kid." She then gives him a blow to his heart, and he faints from exhaustion. He is now dead, she tells him, and if you touch his chest, you can feel if he is still breathing. She says that he will not survive like the other heroes in the stories.
